Prometheus Marks 25th Anniversary

We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year. From very small beginnings in 1983 Prometheus has grown steadily over the subsequent two and a half decades to reach its current balance sheet total of $17.5 million in total assets.

Over that time depositors have increasingly been drawn to Prometheus' pioneering of ethical and responsible investment in New Zealand, as we have focused exclusively on lending to socially and environmentally responsible projects and businesses.

The projects we have supported over the years are testimony to Prometheus' responsible investment bona fides.

After 25 years of steady development a number of changes are underway which are expected to help provide the scope for substantial further growth over the near future. The Prometheus brand has been revised and updated, we have launched our new website offering fuller information to existing and potential clients and we have two new shareholders joining The Prometheus Foundation in providing the capital base needed to enable Prometheus Finance Ltd to continue to grow strongly over the years ahead.

Through all this time our most valuable asset has been our clients, both our depositors and our borrowers. Not only have they helped pioneer responsible investment in New Zealand but they have been our major outreach and marketing agents as well. For Prometheus, word of mouth from satisfied clients has been the strongest contributor to our growth.
